This division focuses on pursuing larger scale and complex energy-related projects.

Our first successful project is an onshore gas sweetening plant venture in the Ixachi field, Mexico. The Perdiz project, which involved EPC & O&M services, has been serving Pemex since 2021. Subsequently in 2023, we also completed the EPC and commenced O&M of a much larger onshore gas processing plant within the area – the Papan project. Together, these two plants serve about 10% of Mexico’s daily gas needs.

In addition, Coastal is also expanding into renewable energy. We are currently developing a 15MW solar power plant in Sabah, which will contribute to Malaysia’s clean energy transition and further strengthen our commitment to sustainable growth.

Coastal is constantly pushing boundaries and exploring opportunities to participate in various other onshore and offshore projects involving MOPUs, FSRUs, FPSOs, FSOs and more in Indonesia, India, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

Papan Plant

Coastal Group’s largest onshore gas processing plant, the Papan Plant, built to serve the Mexican oil & gas sector.

First privately owned cryogenic plant in Mexico.

This EPC project was successfully completed within a record time of 9 months, while maintaining the highest standards and latest innovation.

This is a modern gas processing plant that is capable of providing gas sweetening, dehydration, dew point control and extraction of LPG services.

Perdiz Plant

Coastal Group’s first venture into onshore gas processing, the Perdiz Plant, built to serve the Mexican oil & gas sector.

Natural Gas, a Growing Demand

Natural gas tends to burn cleaner relative to other types of fuel and is considered more friendly to our environment. Its heating value is also higher than other fuels, making it more cost efficient in generating electricity.

The demand trend of natural gas in Mexico is expected to increase mainly due to the development of industries and growth in electricity demand using natural gas as a power generation source.

15MW Solar Power Plant, Sabah

Coastal Group’s first renewable energy venture in Malaysia, the 15MW Solar Power Plant in Sabah marks a significant milestone in our commitment to sustainability and clean energy. The project supports Malaysia’s national renewable energy targets while contributing to Sabah’s growing demand for electricity.

Driving Malaysia's Renewable Future

As Malaysia targets 70% renewable energy capacity by 2050, Sabah holds a unique position with its abundant natural resources and growing energy needs. The Coastal 15MW Solar Power Plant will not only provide clean electricity but also showcase our ability to diversify beyond oil & gas into sustainable infrastructure projects.

This project demonstrates Coastal’s ongoing evolution — bridging traditional energy expertise with renewable solutions — to create a cleaner, more resilient future for the region.
